Last updated: 24-10-2026

FBW Parts takes good care of your data. In this statement you can read which data we process when you visit our webshop or place an order with us, why we do so, and what rights you have. We never sell your data to others.

1. Who are we?

FBW Parts is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this statement.

  • Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 42184372
  • Email: [email protected]

Questions about privacy? Feel free to email us. We do not have a Data Protection Officer; this is not required for a company of our size.

2. What data we process and why

We only process data that is necessary for the purpose. This is what we use it for:

  • To process your order. Your name, address, email address and phone number, so we can ship your package. This is necessary to perform the purchase agreement.
  • For your account. If you create an account, we store your details and previous orders. Your password is stored in encrypted form.
  • When you contact us. For questions, advice, returns or warranty claims, we use your messages, your order number and any photos or details of your moped.
  • For our accounting. We are required by law to keep invoices.
  • To prevent fraud. We look at your IP address and order details to prevent misuse.
  • For the newsletter. Only if you sign up yourself. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To improve the webshop. Only if you accept cookies (see section 5).

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal effects for you. Our webshop is not intended for children under the age of 16.

3. Who we share data with

We only share data when this is necessary to fulfil your order, when required by law, or when you give your consent. We conclude a data processing agreement with parties that process data on our behalf.

  • Payment: Mollie and PayPal receive the data needed for your payment.
  • Delivery: PostNL, DHL, DPD receive your name, address and contact details for delivery and track & trace.
  • Accounting: our accountant sees your invoice details.
  • Customs: for orders outside the EU, your name, address and the contents of the package are passed on to customs.

Transfers outside the EU. If you live outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we must share your name and address with carriers and customs in the country of destination; this is necessary to deliver your order. Some service providers (such as PayPal and Google) may process data in the United States. In that case this takes place on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission.

4. How long we keep data and how we protect it

We do not keep data longer than necessary. After that, we delete or anonymise it.

  • Invoices and orders: 7 years, as required by the Dutch Tax Administration.
  • Correspondence about questions, returns and warranty: 1 year.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

Security. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures. The webshop uses a secure connection (SSL/TLS, recognisable by the padlock in your browser). Payment details such as credit card numbers never reach us, but are processed by the payment provider. Only those who need the data for their work have access, each with their own password. We report a data breach that poses a risk to you to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) and, where necessary, to you.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that your browser stores when you visit our webshop. We always place necessary cookies. For all other cookies we first ask for your consent via the cookie banner. If you refuse, the webshop will still work normally.

  • Necessary cookies make sure your shopping cart, login and checkout work. No consent is required for these.
  • Analytical cookies show how visitors use the webshop, so we can improve it.
  • Marketing cookies provide advertisements that match your interests.

Cookies are stored for a maximum of 13 months, unless stated otherwise above. A complete overview with names and retention periods can be found in the cookie settings at the bottom of the webshop.

Changing your choice. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via [link "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page]. You can also delete cookies via your browser settings.

6. Your rights, complaints and changes

You have the following rights:

  • Access: request which data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: have incorrect or incomplete data corrected.
  • Erasure: have your data deleted, unless we are legally required to keep it.
  • Restriction: have the processing temporarily suspended.
  • Data portability: receive your data in a commonly used file format.
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest, such as direct marketing.
  • Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent you have given (newsletter, cookies) at any time.

Send your request to [email protected]. We will respond within one month. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to verify your identity; never send us a copy of your passport or ID card unless we ask you to.

Changes. We may amend this statement, for example if our webshop or the law changes. The date at the top shows when the text was last updated. In the event of significant changes, we will actively inform you.

In the event of any discrepancies between the Dutch and the English version, the Dutch version shall prevail.
