Tips for removal and installation

Removing the crankshaft pinion: always use the dedicated special tool. Using a pulley puller or similar tool is very likely to damage the pinion beyond use. Fitting the crankshaft bearings: always support the crank web on the side where the bearing is being fitted. This prevents you from bending the crankshaft. Fitting the oil seals: always oil the shafts before fitting the oil seals. Oil seal on the output shaft: use the fitting sleeves, so the seal lip isn’t damaged.
